“U chor lele Montessori Kronberg” at the Hessian schools music festival

In February and March 2025, regional concerts of the project “Schulen in Hessen musizieren” took place across Hesse, with around 3,500 pupils performing — and our ensemble was among them.

After weeks of preparation, our children from years 2, 3 and 4 set off early on the morning of 7 March for Friedrichsdorf, supported by the whole school team. Sabine Heinze conducted the ensemble and Margarita Kopp accompanied the choir on the piano. After warming up together, they were the first school on stage.

The children in years 3 and 4 played the ukulele while their classmates, in brightly coloured gloves, added a lively mime to the music. The programme included “Singen macht Spaß” (Uli Führe), “Eine kleine Nachtmusik” (Mozart), “We merry minstrels” (Henry Purcell) and “What shall we do with the drunken sailor”.

Music at our school

All the children take part in choir every week; for years 3 and 4 the ukulele classes are added. They show what they can do at the end-of-term singing, the Advent singing or at special performances — most recently in the Markus church in Kronberg on the first Sunday of Advent.
