Summer festival at the Montessori Children's House

On Saturday 14 June 2025 our Children's House became a colourful meeting place for families, children and shared educational life. Under the banner “All children everywhere have rights”, we held a joyful summer festival.
Children's rights in practice — a theme for the whole year
Throughout the year the children worked on the subject of children's rights. The way in was through feelings: together we established that every feeling is allowed and matters — and that you may set a boundary and ask for help when a simple “No, stop that!” is not enough.
In everyday life we practised democratic decisions, for instance in choosing the menu, and made creative posters about individual rights. In doing so, children experience themselves as capable, seen and taken seriously.
A stage for children's rights
To open, the children gave a musical performance in the hall: brave lions stood for the right to play, to move and to be free; children dressed as vegetables recalled the right to good food and clean water; a troupe of Pippi Longstockings and pirates made the case for the right to an education.
