A warm welcome: Marie-Liesel von Korff is our new head teacher

The Montessori primary school Kronberg is delighted to welcome Marie-Liesel von Korff as its new head teacher. In her the school gains a leader who has known and lived Montessori education from almost every angle for a good four decades — as a mother, as co-founder of an inclusive Montessori children's house, as a teacher and head teacher of many years at state Montessori schools, and as a lecturer in adult education.
From 1993 to 2018 Marie-Liesel von Korff taught at the municipal Montessori primary schools in Aachen, becoming their head in 2001. There she introduced animal-assisted education, among other things, and developed approaches to strengthening inclusion within multi-professional teams. Since 2020 she has trained prospective educators as a lecturer for the German Montessori Association, and most recently she led the establishment of an international Montessori school in Aachen.
“Giving children the fundamentals and the key skills they need for life is, to my mind, the most important task a school has,” says von Korff. For her new role in Kronberg she hopes to work with the committed staff to realise an approach that gives children room to develop and to enjoy learning.
An invitation to the parents' seminar: “What is different about a Montessori school?”
Together with Michelle Tepper and Claudia Müller, the new head teacher invites parents to a seminar in four parts. Over four evenings, parents and anyone interested can get to know Maria Montessori's guiding ideas, experiment with the Montessori materials for mathematics and language themselves, and experience cosmic education through one of the Great Stories.
Dates: 28 October, 4 November, 18 and 25 November 2026, each from 7:30 to 9:00 pm, in the hall and the classrooms. Please register through the school office: telephone 06173 999700 or info(at)montessori-kronberg.de.
