New life at the Children's House: the ladybirds have moved in

Several ladybird larvae have moved in with us, and the children may now accompany them. Over the coming days we will watch closely as the larvae develop, pupate and finally become ladybirds.

This journey gives the children a chance to experience nature changing at first hand — entirely in the spirit of Montessori: “Help me to do it myself.” The children observe, ask questions, record what they see and work through their impressions creatively.

We expect the full-grown beetles in about two to three weeks.
